You have a point, however most CFIDS patients that have had the disease for a while are well aware of the ME name because they have to do so much research on the disease or illness to survive. This is one of those illnesses that has a major learning curve.
I also feel that a new patient might not know the ME name but it sounds a lot more serious and important than Chronic Fatgue. I have resorted to not telling people the name of my diease because everytime I do, they say "Oh I think I might have that for I am tired a lot of the time."
